I used to treasure my trips to the store there when I was a kid. I was always fascinated by all the "stuff", and going to Defender is actually what got me hooked on sailing - I always loved seeing all of the cruising gear. So.. I can say thanks to your Dad for the fact that I got into sailing and was then able to share it with my kids by spending a year living on our boat and heading south. My son has now said that he loved it so much that when he has a family he wants to do the same thing, so your Dad is responsible for multiple generations of my family getting involved in family cruising. It brought us closer together than, well, I can't think of anything that would bring families closer together. So thanks Sheldon, and may you rest in peace.
