An x-10 corepack and head from Defender will run under $2000 and should work with your drive. The Garmin will run your drive but needs a adapter cable. I don't know how much the cable is but the rest of it is advertised under $2000 and is quite powerful. The Simrad AC12 is more but will work as well I believe. Bigger units are more of course and I'm not sure of your requirements. Also compatability with existing NMEA sytems can be a factor i.e. if everything else is Seatalk it may be easier to stick with Raymarine. I've been reading up on AP's in order to get budget approval ( we'll see...) and it seems most brands will run most drive units depending on amperage and whether it's a type 1,2, or 3 drive. E-bay has a lot of Raymarine stuff if you are inclined that way. Good luck.
