When you consider the weight of this wet clumpy snow and the fact that the trees are still carrying leaves, there's going to be a LOT of damage.

Winter Storm Warning(nl)Statement as of 7:23 PM EDT on October 29, 2011
...Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am EDT Sunday...
* locations...Fairfield...New Haven...Middlesex and northern New(nl)London counties in Connecticut.
* Hazard types...heavy snow and wind.
* Accumulations...8 to 12 inches of snow.
* Winds...north 15 to 35 mph with gusts 50 to 65 mph. The(nl)strongest winds will be east of the Connecticut River.
* Temperatures...in the lower 30s.
* Visibilities...one quarter mile or less at times.
* Timing...snow will be heavy at times through midnight...before(nl)tapering off from west to east late. Rain will mix with the(nl)snow at times along the immediate shoreline. In addition to(nl)the snow...winds will intensify this evening...with damaging(nl)winds continuing through the night.
* Impacts...widespread downed trees and power outages can be(nl)expected. Travel tonight will be extremely hazardous.(nl)
