use a transom mount depth transducer as an in-hull transducer? Chart plotter came with the transom unit instead of an in-hull which is what I want (to good a deal to pass up though). I can't see why it wouldn't work, properly mounted to the hull. Anyone have any good reason to nix this - I really do not want to buy a new in-hull unit unless I have to.
