I've got 'ritis pretty bad in knees and that hurts outside knee or feels like inside front of knee. Had torn meniscus in both knees, operated on both, and that pain was on the inside of the knees, that is, between the knees on both.

Just something to consider.

  - Or, top/front of kneecap can be quadriceps tendonitis (if you did something like go up and down ladder a lot)
    - Maybe better described as, front/lower thigh, just above kneecap
