From what I could see the strap parted
In Response To: Yikes! I have to go up in the lift on my boat to work the centerboard. ()
It was a 2 piece strap and I do not know if the metal pin or the fabric was the problem. It happened over the water at high tide when the bow strap parted. Happily it was near high tide. Big waves in marina when a 45 - 50 foot trawler falls from the sky!!
