It has a safe, sheltered mooring field with 24 hour launch service that is open to the public and rents moorings on a daily or monthly basis. It is 20 minutes from Miami International Airport where you will likely get much cheaper air fare to where ever Mom is. Also the are very good ship stores and supermakets close buy. It is a popular last stop for lots of boats going to the Bahamas for the winter.
