The head mechanic knew about the alignment tool and even told his second to use it. When I told him about the problem he got mad when the second said he didn't use it. He told him he really screwed up. I like the head mechanic. He spent quite a bit of time researching the Lasdrop seal and knew the correct way to install it. He trusted his second and was let down. I think the second will be on notice for not following instructions from his boss.

In this case it was a dumb screw up that will cost me time and money.
