Unless the bronze is from a 'known' USA foundry, or is from a material 'lot' that had mill certs., etc. .... dont risk your boat to 'asian' bronze - very variable, possibly errant alloy, etc. .... ie.: usually 'schlock".
If you are planning long distance sailing, etc. in the future, and the 'spaces' you have can accommodate it .... consider to 'go thicker' (fatigue consideration), mechanically polish the plates to 'mirror bright' finish (fatigue + crevice corrosion consideration), then for extra $$$$ get them 'electro-polished' (crevice and general corrosion resistance).
