Thanks! I've been using iMovie for a long time now and thought I knew just about everything.... I tried doing as you described, but found that I didn't have those options in my iMovie... So I studied a bit and found that I had the "Advanced Options" turned off in my preferences. For the first time I turned them on, found what you described, and some other things and WOW!!! Looking forward to using side by side video, or video with a picture in it in future episodes. Many thanks. Have you looked at Final Cut Pro X? I bought a copy and have been struggling to make the switch from iMovie to FCPX...
