it is as Ken says - there's a fairly strong current and it can be crowded with other anchored and moored boats, but you should be able to find room. You can dinghy over to the marina on the Charleston side. I found it to be a satisfactory anchorage and it had the advantage of being quite near to where the action is in the city.
