First, the VC17 has to come off. It is a freshwater only paint and there is almost nothing left and while very thin now it has been on the boat for at least 3 years. Labor to remove is going to be minimal.
Second, the boat will be in the Med by next Fall, so any consideration to it's effectiveness should be considered in that light. I don't know if the Med is a place where the EP2000 would be more or less effective than LI Sound. I need to look into this further.
I was basing my choice on the lack of copper and the results of the recent Practical Sailor test done in Florida. My first thought is that the Med would be similar to Florida, but I'm not sure.
I may be an outlier on this, but my goals are to have a bottom paint that is 1) least toxic/polluting 2) Smooth 3) Effective at anti-fouling. That is probably not the normal ranking, but that's where I'm coming from. Essentially, I want the next best thing to a bare hull in terms of 1 & 2, with an improvement in 3.
Thanks for your input though, even if it wasn't what I was hoping to hear.
