Cruising Sailors Forum Archive

I especially enjoyed that Shantyboat article.

Had the details of how the designer had the eureka moment. Having sailed most way around the world on a boat he built, etc. etc, Harry Bryan begins to realize what he really loves, is the simple life of living on a small boat with his family. The simple life meaning uncomplicated by shoreside life distractions. He begins designing his Shantyboat while cruising.

I can sort of get what he's talking about. Was he saying that his experience cruising was great, but the real find was not that far from home all along, more a way of living, even if just for some time away? My boat is all the Shantyboat I need though, maybe Harry is much for sailing?
