I just saw this one in Gunkholing with Gizmo. I always look at these informative articles on the last page of Maine Boats and Harbors magazine. Many know Ben Ellison by his electronics webpage(what's the name of that?), I know him from his travels in Gizmo, finding new anchorages for me(electronics put me to sleep...).
I don't know how many times I've been through here on my way up Blue Hill Bay, but I never knew there were some publicly owned islands right here. We're always passing through and not seeing what's right in front of our nose.
I love charts, they're like looking at the cover of an interesting book. Can't you see yourself here about to drop anchor for the night? And with my boat, I'm always looking for the #4... Look at all the nice protected spots in this little island group. As Ben says, the views should be wonderful, I agree.
If you sail in this area or pass through on your way to MDI, take a look at the article.
