Oh yeah, the Muscongus flies' bites HURT!

I think they even drew blood a few times.

I'd be down below with the fly swatter, slapping the bastards and putting them in the sink. I'd collect up about 20 or so then chuck them overboard for fish food. Rinse and repeat. One of the reasons we generally avoid Muscongus Bay is that they seem to congregate there.

Bummer there's a clan on Seguin. We stopped there only once, hoping to go ashore, but the wave action near the stairway was nasty enough that day that we were afraid of damaging the inflatable, so we passed. I'd still like to check it out someday, and will make it a point to bring bug dope.
