I have had two such injuries to my dogs and they are serious indeed, especially if the pad is damaged. One of my dogs stepped on a hot charcoal fire and burned his foot. Another tore his foot open on a twig while charging through the woods. Bears watching. I'm happy your dog is recovering. Sorry I can't help with the boots, although I remember seeing snow boots on dogs in the midwest. Might try googling "dog boots"??
