Legislation before the Maryland General Assembly could dramatically raise the cost of boat registration here. Legislation has been proposed by MD DNR at the request of the MD Government to increase the funds for waterway improvement. The increased need for funding is a result of cutbacks in Federal funding and Maryland's transferring funds out of the Waterway Fund to the General Fund. By 2016, Maryland boat registration fees, paid every two years, would be:(nl)» Under 16 feet: $50(nl)» 16-32 feet: $125(nl)» 32-45 feet: $250(nl)» 45- 65 feet: $500(nl)» Greater than 65 feet: $700(nl)Note these fees are for the use sticker itself and apply to documented as well as Maryland numbered boats.
