It's also a pain to rig and derig this system and as I unstep/step the mast every season, it's more work than I'd like. Also, I prefer a traditional boom, loose footed main, and a jiffy reefing system.

That said, some people swear by them, including the PO of my boat who just can't believe I've removed it.
