A couple months ago we discussed fuel polishing systems. I am installing one using a Walbro pump and Racor 500 filter. Without major retrofit work which isn't feasible at this time, I will be returning the polished fuel to the tank via the existing fuel return port which probably does not have a dip tube (in other words the fuel will 'fall' into the tank). I remember folks saying it is preferable not to let the fuel 'fall' and therefore foam up. What exactly are the drawbacks ?
I don't normally use much fuel and can keep the tank pretty full which might lessen the foaming, but I'm curious what undesirable issues foaming might create.
Thanks. 50s and 60s temps and longer days coming here in Maine, time to pick these projects back up.
