Thanks for the offer of ground support; I appreciate it. I haven't gotten as far as thinking about the details at that end, but obviously it would be smart to do so, though I was thinking I might pick up local knowledge along the way.
Yes, Resolute is the Mighty Pearson 26 I've had for 10 years at this point; hard to believe it's been that long. I have contemplated the economics of the situation, because I know that shipping will be expensive, but the other thing that's expensive is having boatwork done by a marina. I had an accident at work a couple years ago, and can no longer be on my feet for any length of time, which limits the amount of boatwork I can do. When I think about having to pay a marina to do the amount of work I put into getting Resolute where she is today, the economics look a bit different. I'm not tied to a tight schedule, so I'm hoping I can find someone deadheading back and maybe save some money that way. She's fairly small--no need for permits, etc., so that may help a bit, too.
Nice to hear you're settled on Widby Island; it's a lovely area. It would be great to see you guys when I get out that way. My plan is not to be in PT except for about 3 months in the winter, but who knows what will happen. Already I'm finding myself pulled between my love of sailing & my new love of ski biking; I had figured I'd be on my way cruising by mid March, but now I've learned there's a major ski bike festival in Oregon the first weekend in April. Decisions, decisions .
