What's the primary entrance and why does anyone go to Boot Key Harbor?

() Is this the primary entrance. We anchored outside and took the dingy in. Terrible place with no redeeming value. Why do people go there when there's so may other places to go in the keys?
Sorry,,,,, when you move around there are many places to go that are great, Marathon isn't one of them. What did we miss? Obviously we must have missed it's charm?
