Be advised the light was not working in November. Don't plan on it working. It's very easy to follow the route through the area, but it can be a choke point for commercial traffic. Just keep an eye out and turn on the radar as not all the Bahamian freight boats have working AIS. Lyford is a great spot, and I agree with John. If you've been lucky enough to make a crossing and not need fuel, great, but that only happens with us half of the time. I like to "give" the place where we clear in the fuel business anyway. Plus, when in the Bahamas, it's a good idea to get fuel where you can and when it's easy. We're in Cat Island and the WX forecast has Sat. - Tue. as very light from the E to ESE. It sounds like you will need fuel. Traveling on the Bank at night is not a problem if you are following the Explorer routes BTW.
Have a good trip...it's great down here!
