Thanks for the welcome - Seems like a nice group of people here. The schooner photo you posted is True north, owned by Andrew Grainger. Rig is original. Hull is cold molded. Apparently they cold molded over the original hull as a mold, then pulled it out, so she may be a little larger than her original plank on frame hull (some thing Frank Luke mentioned to me when he had her at his shop redoing the steering gear). She was originally named Emma Jean (built1930) Alden design number 309M. She is very nice boat but the cold molded hull has a very different motion than the plank on frame original (a little tender, tends to rock forward and aft even in very light air and small waves) probably due to a more uniform hull density versus a wood hull that has more dense wood (water saturated) below the water line, which enhances stability. We think there are about 45 or so of the original Alden schooners left in the world
