For those on the east coast and may not have heard of him, Don Anderson was the west coast equivalent of Herb the weather guy. I have to say, Don saved my but many a time!

He passing leaves a very large gap in the cruising community!

It's with much sadness and regret that we learned today that Don Anderson had been found dead on his boat this morning by friends of ours from Ventura Yacht Club. They went looking for him because he had not been seen in almost a week. I have no other details, nor contact for his family at this time.

Please pass this on via the various SSB and Ham nets. He was a really fine gentleman, sailor, weather guru and mentor and will be sorely missed by the cruising community.
