it's foggy but it's before the crowds come. Tom is right about some places being crowded and others not being, but the same is true in both cruising areas. For coastal Maine - the popular places (those with four-five stars in the cruising guides) - will be crowded, starting by July 4. I've found it best to adopt a similar strategy for both Maine and Southern New England - avoid the popular places on weekends and, if you want to, go to them on weekdays.
