Just did the same on a Tartan 37 for a customer- Just plain
WD-40 on a rag, works like a charm

Goo-Gone.
I ruined a plastic glass with Goo-Gone trying to get the tag off.
Goo gone dissolves some plastic but how is it on gel coat?
I guess, as they say "test an area"
Just used it coupla days ago. No problem..however, it didn't remove the goo.
Dan, sure it wasn't Goof Off you used?
I just looked. Yes it was Goof Off.
I just learned--and confirmed, much to my surprise--that Vodka works!
Just don't mix the two Peggie...
