It seems as though Helmsman no longer sells varnish. Last season I tried their spar urethane on my boarding ladder and was disappointed with result. The finish peeled almost immediately. Other people in the boatyard extoll the virtues of spar urethane and others hate it.

Now I am trying it on my hatchboards and stopped after one coat. The finish does not compare to the old varnish. I am leaning toward trying Rust-oleum varnish. Has anyone tried it?
