I also used SeaClear for a time. But once I tried OpenCPN I trashed SC. It's that much better! I also ran it on a Netbook with a puck. One of the original Asus Eee PCs. The 7 inch model. It worked well but now a bit old and I am looking for something else for our next adventures, AS A BACKUP. I have and love my Standard Horizan chart plotter and my Yoeman that uses a GPS and paper charts for open water work.

I just thought this small LOW LOW cost option was a slick thing.
