getting our easting in

Hi SG,

We took advantage of every opportunity to sail east until we got to the point where we could turn south and then sail the easterly trade winds on a beam reach. The majority of the sail was spent working our way to the east. If we had tried to sail from Savannah, GA to Tortola straight on the rhumbline, then we would have had a difficult time sailing the last part because we'd be too close to the wind in the easterly trades. I was thankful that the conditions were good for us to be going due east when I filmed that sunrise.

Thanks and Happy sailing!
