Actually only about four inches is over the bow so it's a bit deceptive. I routered a channel in the teak to help contain the chain. The sprit is to help protect the foredeck since I'm using all chain rode, well sixty five feet of it. The chain hole and the anchor lock pin are positioned so I can reach them from the hatch in the forecabin forestalling going on deck. My 'ritis in my infrastructure precludes being very useful on the foredeck any more. Though it may look a bit strange, there's a reason for the various levels. Likely most of the changes are the result of the dreaded "notion". Notions get me in trouble all the time....

There's another hour or so of work to do, some rounding, etc, hollowing the bottom a bit, etc.
