I would just anchor out in the front. There was plenty of room. If you are at any of the back creek marina's, you will end up taking the harbor taxi to town (and show), they stop by the anchored yachts going to and from so it was actually shorter out there. The moorings were full, many of them out of service due to the show, but plenty of anchoring space. Most of the marinas had jacked their rates (like 2x or more) for that week. We stayed at Port Annapolis Landing (who had jacked their rates less) and it was pleasant except for the ducks, but you are a ways away from everything including groceries and dinner.
