So, you can completely disconnect either of the 2 batteries by taking the cables off the terminals and the other will start the engine?

Ever hear of a Danforth battery monitor?

    - Well I did it via the battery switch, but yes.
  - basically a loose connection.
    - I use a "power Post" for both my positive and
      - I like the "boot" that is shown with those... but not quite sure what the Power Post is...

        Exactly what I installed when I cleaned up the wiring.
