Even though we're not in Sandy's projected cone, storm preparations we're evident in my harbor. I stripped my sails today, overdressed. It was warm mid 60's, and very calm. A light moist smokey breeze drifted in from the East. Perfect weather for my wife and I to flake sails on the grass at Marine Park.
Our local marina put all hands on today and pulled their docks. The fear is not the wind, but the potential for a very high tide event which could lift docks off their pilings. I warmed up the engine for an oil change and motored by the Fyfe Schooner ADVENTURESS, now waiting for Sandy to pass so they can head to the Caribbean.
