Hey Tom,

I had to go up to Great Kills Harbor on Staten Island Saturday afternoon to retrieve my car, where I had left it when I picked up a boat there last weekend... that place is gonna get hit hard, if my car is gonna go underwater, I'd rather it did so in my own driveway... (grin)

I was amazed, however, at how "casual" much of the ongoing storm prep seemed to be up there... Lots of boats still out on moorings with no obvious measures taken, many large powerboats sitting in their slips as if it was just another afternoon in July...

Even in my neighborhood here, seems to me the average storm prep of houses and property is somewhat less than it was last year for Irene...
