Haven't seen my boat yet
In Response To: Larry, how about you? ()

... but the dockmaster says I don't have damage. I was in a very well protected spot, had stripped everything I could, and had either double or triple lines in every direction. I brought it in late Friday, but went back Saturday to strip sails and canvas and make sure all was secure, then went back yesterday around 10:30 AM to check to make sure nobody else had re-tied my lines. By that time it was gusting to 60+. Maybe I'm a little OCD about that, but it made me feel better to know it was ready for the storm.

The surge wasn't kind to these boats(nl)

There were probably 8-10 foot waves here while the buoys outside the harber were recording 12 footers - the high water covered the whole parking lot at least as deep as the top of the wall. The wall was pointed and intact before the storm.

Notice the reeds and grass that got caught on the cross cable -- I normally attach my dinghy to that cable right near that grass. I wouldn't have it anymore if I hadn't hauled it out and brought it home. There used to be a small cottage on the island near that flagpole in the background. It was swept away.

This is at my home: 4 giant trees down in gusts I guesstimate at 70-80+ They didn't fall slowly and it was very dangerous around here last night. Fortunately none fell on the structure of the house, but this big pine in the foreground damaged the deck stairway. The trunk of that white pine is about 4 feet in diameter, and it stood at maybe 100 feet as one of the tallest trees around.

Same docks, in summer --
