Running backstays

Running backstays are normally run to a point on the mast to tension the headstay - fractional rig. Hence, tension on the runner gives tension in the headstay. How much you need depends on the shape of the jib - too much and the leading edge of the jib becomes too flat and you loose your groove for steering by the tell tales on the jib. OK?
