There are Westie, very affordable, and on the water. This one,...

a Cy Hamlin designed yawl was built at Brooklin Boatyard, a high quality builder. It's a one off, and while it's not a house, it's got everything you need to spend 4 or 5 of the best months on the coast here. And unlike a house, it was so affordable that the owner rolled his eyes at what he paid(I didn't ask him but he couldn't refuse it). The owner is a very knowledgeable wooden boat owner(life long in the biz as well as an author of a reference work of boat designers), and this is his second Cy Hamlin design.

His first season was problem free, he and his partner love the boat!

It's a bit basic(to his eye more than mine), but I like it a lot. Low maintenance plywood hull, very well built and finished simply, easy paint maintenance. She's a commodious floating home I found when I went below. Only 34' but as the owner pointed out, her boxy look resulted in a big space below.

High headroom, nice forward cabin and storage, big head and locker space, roomy saloon, beautiful big centerline drop leaf table, with two berths and wood stove, and finally, a proper galley and nav station with tons of storage. All very well constructed and finished simply for easy care.

Plenty of affordable places to keep it in this area, both in the water(it draws just 3' with the centerboard up), and stored over the winter. You missed this one, it was sailaway condition,... be ready, I'll be looking for another one, for you. Look closely at the workmanship, you can appreciate that I bet. I did.
