Those boats are beautiful, and it's one thing to sail an authentic boat from decades ago and appreciate it. Simply to copy it today (with some newer appurtenances and hardware) seems very "retro".
They are gorgeous to look at with the bow angles and stern overhangs; as well as, the larger four triangles. However, in a wind without whitecaps they are heeled over at something approaching 30 degrees. Look at the pictures!
There are some simple things they could solve with moving the mast forward, changing the rig a little to reduce the weather helm and tenderness -- but the don't appear to do those things.
I suspect its because the people that sail those boats really either don't know what they're missing or don't really use the boats except in light winds.
