The famous lightning 'guru' from FSU, now retired and in business for himself for lightning protection of boats, mega-yachts, etc, ... seemingly now advocates 'electrodes' along the waterline to eliminate and dissipate the 'slide flashes', grounding to 'surface of the water rather than to 'underwater' dissipation.
Also recommends 'polyphase RF chokes', etc. on all electronics to protect from lightning 'radio frequency' (RF) strikes.
