Yes, just don't go through at low water - during the flood tide would be best

It's a leisurely hour run; very scenic and well worth the short motoring spell, especially if on a long trip up to Penobscot bay.. I've done it in a 6' draft boat before with no issues. You can usually pick up an empty mooring on the northern end or sneak around the corner to Rockport for an excellent anchorage area if heading north, or the same in Gloucester if heading south.
