Just after clearing (i.e. bouncing around in) the Hog Neck channel. The sails were up so we killed the engine, spun around and headed in. We usually do sail through the chicane into the Onset channel (with diesel idling) so that was not so bad. Glad that we have a mooring and didn't have to go into a slip. The wind was a cooperative SW.
That winter pulled out the fuel tank and cleaned it. It had pulled the same stunt while sailing to Marion for haulout and we had to beat into the fall NW up Sippican harbor to a mooring at Bardens.
