Actually I have two alarms. The first is connected to the

higher up pump and the second to a propane/fire/water alarm. If the second pump/alarm kicks on then I know that I have a problem because the first pump isn't keeping up with the leak. If the propane/water alarm then goes off I go for the AC operated high capacity trash pump and start thinking emergency.
