Pam and I are cruising in slow motion. It took us a year and a half to get from Albany NY to Brunswick GA. But part of what we really enjoy is really exploring an area. Places we spent several days or more, and found many great restaurants, were Atlantic Highlands NJ, Manesquan NJ, Atlantic City NJ, Annapolis MD... and then we beat feet south to beat the winter... Charleston SC, Beaufort SC (Hemingways!), Isle of Hope (Savannah) GA, and finally Brunswick GA.
Our boat is now for sale, but if it doesn't go by May, our plan is to store it on the hard in Green Cove Springs FL until after Christmas 2013 and then splash it again and spend the next three months wandering down the coast of Florida. No plans, no schedule, no worries. If we find a place we like, we'll stay for an indefinite period. We'll find our own little out of the way places with exceptional cheeseburgers or perfect NY sirloins.
One stop that is a must though, and as Jon mentioned, is Coinjock. The place on the east side of the ICW. The BEST prime rib I've ever had.
