According to the schematic I found. I wonder if in cracking the seal, I let air in and not oil out(I didn't see any inside the binnacle). I saw air bubbles flowing in through the seal. Could the diaphram have shrunk that day and created a vaccumn? Now the low barometric pressure today,...But the air can't disappear? Was the old design,...self healing?

I dunno. We've got a few science guys here, I'm surprise nobody has chimed in.
