It seems like a simple enough concept. The best ideas always are.

My old trawler has stabilizers, which are fins mounted on each side of the boat. They're hydraulically operated and controlled by a gyroscope. If the boat starts to heel, a fin kicks to keep it level. It works so well that we take sportfisherman wakes on the beam instead of quartering them. I wonder if some hybrid of that wing and a gyroscope might be the next step? Can you imagine being able to dial in your desired angle of heel?
