Well, redid the house a few years ago. The roof is painted steel, copper colored, standing seam roofing.
In Response To: Nice roof on the house too ()

Fifty year guarantee for what that's ever worth. Bruce and Dana roofing from the next town over'ish. 8k installed on my 1400' house with garage.

The siding I did as I went around the house taking the old cedar siding off, vertical with staves. It was good sidiing in its time but what with fifty years of failure to treat the siding as real wood, it was drying, shrinking, and had lead paint in the many, many old coats. It sadly all ended up in the landfill.

Current siding is Hardiplank which I installed over 1/2" CDX over new insulation in the walls. Old insulation was mebbe a R-6/7 or so badly poked in among the studs. Upgraded to max for the space at the time which was R-13. Instead of Tyvek which I don't like, I installed 'tar paper' back on the house between the siding and the sub-siding. But I digress.

A big job I hope to...well, not capable of repeating. As houses go, that was my last hurrah much as Jaunty is my last hurrah for boat building.
