We use a clear plastic container with a wire rack in the bottom.

What's good about the plastic container is that after doing dishes you can pick it up and put it somewhere out of the way for passage. Almost any dish rack you can buy will have dishes all over the floor if you decide to up anchor and you must do the dishes before making a passage. The other thing is that in a small galley it gives you your space back while the dishes are drying. $4.00 at Target or Home Depot.

If we are raising anchor after a meal we just put all the dishes in the container and put the container on the V-berth. Hell, you could even put dirty dishes in it and put the top on to do later. Done. Now let's get out of here!
