Friends of friends have sailed to the US from the UK in their 34' Rival, and are headed for Portland tomorrow for the general stuff-food, laundry, dinghy gas, etc, all within distance of a good anchorage for the day.

A friend on his boat down there(Portland) can't think of anything too Handy(he did mention Handy boat) but suggested anchoring off Clapboard Island, borrow a mooring in Falmouth Foreside(he said many boats not in yet), or see if they could tie up to dock or mooring to shop at and from Handy Boat which has been refurbished.

The places that can give the cruiser all this are not that easy to find. Too often, some big part is missing and you have to find wheels to put it all together.
