This is how engineers think: Durval Tavares had lunch with a friend, a global sailor, who told him sailors don’t sleep well when their boat is at anchor.
So to provide his friend a good night’s rest, Tavares invented a new business.
Tavares is the founder, president, and engineer at Aquabotix, an underwater robot manufacturer headquartered at Commonwealth Landing.
They build a small submarine that has a video camera in its nose to allow users to look around under the water without getting wet.
