It has a 130' wing that was inverted and they were going upwind and tacking through the wind when it happened. At that point, the wing is simply a big wall for the wind to push over. The wind was well ahead of them - there wasn't any shadow.
After the race, Dean Barker gave an interview where he essentially said "yeah, we had a bit of a problem with the wing there and got a bit tippy, but got it back pretty easy - no problems".
Am I the only one who thinks that after they get back to shore and Dean says "cheer's mates - see you later at the bar", he then goes into a secret sound proof room and yells "HOLY FOOKIN JEEZUZ CHRIZ SHITZ!", shakes for a few minutes and then joins his team for a beer?
